This policy describes the personal Home Assistant Nest integration. It applies to this integration, rather than other services or content on this website.

Data accessed and purpose

With the Google account owner’s permission, the integration accesses selected Nest devices, device identifiers and names, home or room information, thermostat temperature, humidity, settings and operating state, and authorized camera events or media features. It uses this information to display and control the owner’s devices in Home Assistant.

The integration also receives authorization tokens and uses Google Cloud Pub/Sub topics and subscriptions to receive device updates. These permissions are used to maintain the connection and deliver the requested smart-home functions.

Storage and service providers

Home Assistant stores integration credentials and configuration in the owner’s Home Assistant installation. Device states, history, events, media and backups may be retained according to that installation’s configuration. Google processes device information, authorization and event delivery through its Nest and Google Cloud services. This information page does not display device data or credentials.

Use and sharing

The integration is for personal home management. Data obtained through this integration is not sold, used for advertising or used to train general-purpose AI models. Google and the owner’s Home Assistant installation process the information needed to operate the integration. Access to the installation and its backups is controlled by the owner.

Retention and removal

The owner can revoke the integration’s access through Google account connection settings and remove the Google Nest integration and saved application credentials from Home Assistant. Revoking access stops future authorized access; existing history, media or backups must be removed separately according to the Home Assistant configuration.

Website

These information pages contain no added analytics or tracking scripts. The web host may process ordinary request logs such as IP addresses and browser details to serve and secure the website.
